Like all things, search engine optimization is evolving and going into 2021 and the end of 2020. There were a couple of things that you’re going to need to focus on that hasn’t really been there before. Core Web Vitals
Core Web Vitals is a new report inside of google search console that has three main elements in it. And you want to ensure that you get these taking care of this before the google core web vital update that’s going to come, probably in 2021. So, the largest content is painful. Within this report, you want to make sure that it’s happening in under 2.5 seconds. First input delay. You want to make sure that this is lower than 100 milliseconds. Cumulative layout shift. You want to make sure that this is lower than point one.
Search By Intent
Item number two, search by intent is absolutely critical. So, I want to make sure that you do this action item where you go to every single page on your website and you make sure that it has the correct intent for what people are searching for. So a full audit of every single page and what you are trying to get it ranked for versus the intent of what people are searching for. So, if you do a search for a page that you’ve optimized for a keyword what comes up. Is it news content? Is it list content? Is it review content? Is a definition content? Is it that software? Is it a tool? Is it something else? Make sure that your content matches the intent of the search because if you don’t match the intent, there’s no way that that page is gonna rank.
Brand Strength and Mentions
Item number three, brand strength and mentions online are more important than ever before. It’s not just about SEO, it’s about growing the size of the brand holistically because when you do that it also supports your SEO. And you really can’t build a business just off a search engine optimization anymore. You can, but it’s not gonna have a good foundation for the future. There are so many different tools in our toolbox. So, when it comes to brand strength and mentions online, you want to make sure that you have a new PR story for each quarter. So, every single quarter you’ve got a new story that you’re pushing out to the press. So that they want to cover you on all of these major publications. You want to do monthly list building. So, build a list every single month of websites that you’re gonna reach out to and promote an amazing piece of content to or promote an amazing story to so that you’re always getting in front of new press. And you want to make sure that you are listed every single place in the entire ecosystem of wherever your customers will spend time online. You literally draw a map of all the places they’re spending time online and make sure that you’ve got some presents there at the right time within their buying decision.
